Photographing the Old Town respectfully
20 August 2026
The Old Town rewards patience. The famous carved doors are best shot in side-light, not at noon.
Ask before photographing people. A smile and a nod goes a long way, and the answer is often yes — but it is their choice.
Three rules
- Never block a doorway someone needs to use.
- Do not photograph children without a guardian's agreement.
- Put the camera down when someone is working.
